Every year, since 2007, I have been invited to cover this exciting event at the St. Denis Catholic Church in Diamond Bar. Last Sunday, October 12, the parishioners of St. Denis turned out en masse to support the International Food Festival featuring among others, Filipino, Hungarian, Vietnamese, Polish, Italian, Mexican and Nigerian delicacies. There were dances and cultural presentations galore, including a segment that featured Polynesian dances and a taekwondo demonstration by a Korean taekwondo school. The Vietnamese booth, from which I bought my lunch, courtesy of Rosary Groups President Carole Evangelista, was manned by Maria Price and some members of Young Adult Ministry, a charity.
There was a 9 a.m. Mass featuring a multi-ethnic parade of colors carried by several St. Denis parishioners, and I saw the flags of the United States, United Kingdom, the Philippines, India, el Salvador, Mexico, Italy, etc.
Here, for your enjoyment are some of the photos I took at the festival.
